Perfect party plans

Bring a colorful winter salad to your next holiday party.

It can be challenging to maintain a healthy weight when you’re running from one holiday party to the next. Here are a few tips to help keep the celebrations more about the people and less about the food.

  • Be choosey—you don’t have to say yes to every invitation.
  • Have a healthy snack before the event.
  • Bring a veggie or fruit platter to share.
  • Wear something fitted (instead of your loosest party pants) to stay mindful of how much you are eating.
  • To avoid “mindless munching,” steer clear of the food tables while chatting.
  • 1:2 Rule for Alcohol–for every alcoholic drink you have, choose 2 non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Volunteer to be the event photographer or babysitter.
  • Load your plate with veggies and fruits.

This colorful winter salad keeps well for several days and is actually better made the day before serving. Bring it with for your next holiday party!
